Engineering Project Manager, Test Development & NPI for a Global Consumer Product Company in Cupertino, CA

Summary:

Seeking an Engineering Project Manager with a strong Electrical Engineering background, robust project management skills, and effective communication abilities to support our team in test station development and bring-up. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of project management experience overseeing full product lifecycles within consumer electronics and bring a self-starter mentality to drive projects independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Test Engineering teams to identify and manage hardware and software dependencies, set schedules for test solution delivery (fixtures, software, validation), and monitor product progress. Proactively identify and escalate risks
  • Manage deliverables across the lifecycle by breaking down test and calibration requirements into specific deliverables, tracking dependencies, and ensuring timely execution throughout the product lifecycle
  • Schedule and lead cross-functional meetings to resolve issues, track action items, and ensure alignment at key checkpoints
  • Document and share insights on build bring-up timelines, key deliverables, and lessons learned for knowledge transfer with contract manufacturing partners
  • Anticipate potential timeline risks, develop mitigation plans, and effectively manage priorities within complex schedules
  • Apply project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and methodologies (e.g., Gantt charts, critical path analysis) to establish a reliable tracking process for build activities

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of project management experience in consumer electronics, with a demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end product development
  • Background in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of system, hardware, and software requirements
  • Proven capability to design, track, and optimize project processes with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with an ability to work across global teams and accommodate China-friendly time zones as needed
  • Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to uncovering risks and managing dependencies

Preferred:

  • Experience working with OEM partners and familiarity with test engineering for embedded products

Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid, Tuesdays - Thursdays Onsite)

Duration: 12-48 months (Ongoing contract with no end date)

Salary: $65/hr - $80/hr (DOE)
