Job Description

Lead, Mechanical Engineering

Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval. Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigates solutions to product or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Conducts investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications or requirements. Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.

Overall Summary

Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management. Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.

Nature of Supervision

  • Work is guided by individual annual goals and objectives with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the Company within area of expertise.
  • Frequently responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.

  • Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.
  • Works to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices and approaches.

Education & Experience

  • Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area. May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Minimum education and years of experience requirements are not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $140,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Fisica Inc. also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), PTO, EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, and schedule type.
