Position: Litigation Attorney

Location: Columbus, OH- Onsite

Duration: Full-time & direct hire

In this role, you will see that our clients receive the best care and obtain excellent results. Attorneys are expected to meet with clients to discuss their case, show compassion and empathy, and demonstrate an ability to earn their trust, confidence, and respect. They will also update clients and communicate with insurance companies from time to time regarding the status of claims, demands, and offers. In addition, the Attorney should be able to prepare the case for trial and try the case if needed.

Chief Responsibilities:

  • Medical case review.
  • Negotiating and settling cases in the pre-litigation stage or litigation stages.
  • Review policies, claims and other records.
  • Prepare, write, and argue legal documents, including but not limited to memos, theory of liability and demands.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and make sure client medical treatment is managed and billed accordingly.
  • Communicate with clients to provide case status update.
  • Conduct intake meetings with new clients.
  • Manage docket of cases according to office policy.
  • Conduct and attend IME's, EUO's and recorded statements.
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Must have experience in personal injury law of a minimum of 3 years.
  • Medical malpractice experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and writing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written electronic correspondence.
  • Demonstrate an ability to analyze corrective action opportunities and present recommendations.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently.

Licensure:

Must be currently licensed in the state of Ohio and in good standing.
