Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Engineering Specialist specializing in tissue diagnostics. This role will be pivotal in supporting our advanced diagnostic solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in clinical environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for on-site support, installation, maintenance, and training for our tissue diagnostic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance:
  • Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of tissue diagnostic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with internal teams and clients.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide on-site technical support and guidance to laboratory personnel.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Training and Development:

  • Deliver training sessions for laboratory staff on the proper use and maintenance of diagnostic equipment.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and documentation.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with sales and product management teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product performance.
  • Provide feedback on product performance and suggest improvements to enhance customer experience.

Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and Roche’s engineering teams to address needs and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • ASCP Certified PLUS
  • Proven experience in field engineering, particularly within tissue diagnostics or a related medical technology.
  • Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support clients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to client sites.

Logistical Information:

  • Daily meal allowance per day, while traveling (up to $20 breakfast, $40 lunch, $125 dinner) – expensed weekly (with receipt).
  • Mileage or Gas reimbursement for extended travel
  • Client has a logistics team to help book travel (flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.). However, consultant should have a credit card that they feel comfortable being reimbursed for on a weekly basis.
  • No work typically expected on weekends/holidays. Travel limited to M-F. For a longer engagement, you may be asked to travel biweekly (travel up to 2 weeks straight).
  • Training: 2-4 weeks at a time in Indianapolis, IN (training will be split up depending on instrument/travel/ride along schedule) Most likely won't start until 2025
  • Day to day: implementation work, constructing machinery, true Maintenace. This role is also very customer-facing!
  • Who you’ll be working with: When out in the field, you will start shadowing someone, then there should typically be multiple workers onsite.
