Manufacturing Quality Manager - $125k - $130k/year
Aegis Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Manager to play a crucial leadership role in upholding and enforcing established quality standards throughout the production process. Overseeing the quality department in a high-complexity plant, this role ensures compliance with federal regulations, customer specifications, and best practices in quality management. Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining the plant’s quality management system, improving operational efficiency, and leading quality audits, testing, and process control initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership: Act as the owner, expert, and key point of contact for the Quality Management System, guiding plant staff in upholding standards.
- Quality Assurance Program: Design and direct the Quality Assurance program, including data control and plant management responsibilities; serve as the local expert on product performance.
- Customer Engagement: Represent the plant in quality and product performance matters, acting as the primary contact with customers for product incident resolutions, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Process Improvement & Compliance: Coordinate with production teams to enhance product reliability, control costs, and improve process efficiency through statistical analysis and SPC programs.
- Inspection & Testing: Oversee inspection and testing of incoming materials, work-in-process items, and finished goods to ensure quality through visual inspection, sampling, and lab testing.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor SPC programs, perform ongoing process capability (CPK) analysis, and recommend improvements for product and customer acceptance.
- Nonconformance Management: Establish procedures for managing nonconforming materials to prevent production disruptions.
- Audit Coordination: Conduct regular internal audits (e.g., GMP) to ensure compliance with industry best practices and plant standards.
- Talent Management: Manage a team of quality professionals, focusing on employee development, performance, and engagement to foster a high-performance, compliant work environment.
- Travel Requirement: 15% travel may be required to support multi-site quality initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in quality management, preferably in high-speed manufacturing.
- Professional certification in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Advanced expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability, and experimental design.
- Thorough understanding of quality management systems, GMP standards, and food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA, HACCP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical/process control software.
- Strong analytical, self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
