Overview:

We are seeking a Controls Technician to join our team. Senior positions are available for experienced candidates. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining factory automation and controls systems. The Controls Technician reports to the Electrical & Controls Engineering Manager and will collaborate with other factory teams contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workstation Development: Assist Controls and Manufacturing Engineers in the design and optimization of manufacturing workstations to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintenance Support: Collaborate with Controls and Manufacturing Engineers to maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Assembly of Equipment: Assemble and wire tools, conveyors, and other material handling devices, following safety protocols and best practices.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Assist in debugging and troubleshooting automated assembly and welding equipment, including 6-axis robots, safety circuits, and automated sheet metal equipment.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Perform routine preventive electrical maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a maintenance, technician, or electrician role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with robotic and automation systems.
  • Familiarity troubleshooting with PLCs and other automation devices.
  • Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000, TwinCAT, or equivalent PLC programming software preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC electrical systems.
  • Experience with material handling equipment wiring and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators/calibrators, and power quality analyzers.
