QA Automation Tester

Location: Menands, NY or New York, NY.

Long term contractual.

This role has an Final Onsite Interview at client location - Albany, NY

As an Automation Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the application delivers a seamless and reliable experience to its users. You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated testing strategies, working closely with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product releases.

Responsibilities

• Writing test scripts, installing automation protocols, and reporting results.
• Working with developers and product managers to identify defects, analyze results, and resolve issues.
• Enhancing the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of test automation strategies
• Building and maintaining automated test scripts
• Running regression testing after developers add new features or fix bugs.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in automation testing, with hands-on expertise in defining testing objectives, defect management, and timelines for project completion.
• 6+ years of experience in JAVA/VB script, Selenium, C/C++
• Proficiency in developing and executing test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of test case management tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or similar tools for tracking test progress and managing defects.
• Strong understanding of API protocols and standards, including HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and OAuth, to effectively assess and validate API performance and security.
• Proficiency in using API testing tools and frameworks such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, or Rest Assured to automate and execute test cases.
• Ability to define and implement communication protocols for reporting progress, involving stakeholders, and using appropriate methods such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, or automated reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues, identifying root causes, and proposing solutions to improve system stability and quality.
• Knowledge of security testing, including testing for vulnerabilities, encryption, and data protection, particularly for sensitive or crisis-related client data.
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments and testing strategies for cloud-hosted applications (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, working in sprint-based testing environments and collaborating closely with development teams.
