Job Title: FPGA Engineer (eInfochips Inc)
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (On-site from Day 1, 5 days per week)
Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and active security clearance due to the nature of the project
Position Overview
Experience Range: 6-15 years
Role Responsibilities:
- Capture requirements, design digital architecture for ASIC/FPGA using RTL, ensure timing closure, verification, and system integration
- Recommend new tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA design flow
- Contribute engineering estimates for new project pursuits
- Potentially lead project design teams by planning activities, breaking down work, and providing status updates
Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in RTL coding and simulation using VHDL/Verilog
- Expertise in digital circuit architecture, design, resource optimization, timing analysis, and timing closure
- Skilled in ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (e.g., Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado)
- Familiar with Git, Subversion, Unix, scripting, C/C++, and/or Perl
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with best practices in chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g., constrained random, functional coverage, SystemVerilog)
- Experience in ASIC/FPGA lab validation with advanced lab equipment
- Knowledge of Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability concerns
Additional Skills:
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to collaborate with engineers of diverse skills and backgrounds, and effectively manage aggressive project timelines
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including documentation and presentation abilities
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
