LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a full-time Senior Director/VP of Engineering to work in a hybrid setting for our client in Seattle, WA. The Senior Director/VP of Engineering will lead and scale product engineering teams, playing a critical role in the development, delivery, quality, and success of enterprise software products. They will ensure that engineering practices, culture, and strategies align with business goals and product vision. Additionally, they will drive engineering excellence, innovation, and efficiency, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver impactful, customer-centric products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale product engineering teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and product vision.
  • Develop and execute the engineering vision and roadmap, supporting a scalable, modular, and extensible product foundation.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize core enhancements and extensible features.
  • Design and advocate for a modular, extensible architecture that ensures core stability and quick deployment of customizations.
  • Implement engineering standards, design specifications, and change processes for high-quality releases.
  • Embed the core and extend strategy into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee a flexible, core-centric technology stack, tools, and practices.
  • Champion an engineering culture focused on adaptability, modularity, and best practices.
  • Recommend and pilot innovative engineering solutions to improve sales potential and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor and coach Engineering Managers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Manage staffing, performance, and resource allocation to meet evolving demands.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap.
  • Conduct hiring, performance management, and team resourcing to meet organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a Director or above position.
  • 6+ years of experience in Engineering Leadership.
  • Currently holding a Sr. Director or VP title, managing Directors.
  • Experience in an Enterprise SAAS organization that has transitioned from bespoke to a “Core and Extend” strategy.
  • 5+ years of experience working in an Agile or Hybrid environment.
  • Background in another Enterprise Level SAAS Company (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication skills and a conversational leadership style.
  • Expertise in modular, extensible architecture and core-extend strategies.
  • Proven background in product development, commercialization, and engineering management.
  • Strong relationship-builder who influences stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of technology architecture, infrastructure, and business processes.
  • Skilled in global team leadership, talent development, and motivating high performance.
  • Bachelor’s in IT, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Perm Salary Range: $200,000 - $280,000
  • Discretionary Bonus: Up to 30% of Base Salary
  • Retirement Contribution: 9% of Base Salary (starts after 12 months)
  • 401k Match: 4% dollar for dollar match
