Junior Analog Verification Engineer
Role Overview
In this role, you will play a crucial part in verifying the performance and functionality of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits used in extreme environments. The company focuses on developing innovative solutions that bridge the gap between commercial and high-reliability technologies, with an emphasis on space applications. These products are designed for use in small satellites and large constellations, providing high performance, compact designs, and resilience to radiation.
Primary Duties
- Model Development
- Create and implement models that accurately represent the performance of specific functional blocks within analog and mixed-signal systems.
- Circuit Design & Analysis
- Analyze and design basic analog circuit components, such as current sources and gain stages, to ensure optimal performance.
- Automation of Regression Testing
- Define, automate, and streamline test and regression processes for analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Simulation
- Utilize advanced simulation tools to conduct both transistor-level and event-driven simulations, ensuring that designs meet required specifications.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of verification processes and results, and produce comprehensive reports for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Methodology Improvement
- Continuously seek to refine verification methods to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including analog and digital design engineers, to align verification plans with product specifications and design goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong skills in circuit analysis, with a basic understanding of system control theory.
- Experience or knowledge in at least one key area of analog and mixed-signal design, such as power management or data conversion.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard design and simulation tools.
- Basic understanding of statistical design principles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time on-site at the Plano office.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with mixed-signal simulation tools and system/HDL modeling languages.
- Experience in digital design methodologies.
- Understanding of how physical design layout and process variations impact analog circuit performance.
- Comfortable working in UNIX environments and familiar with scripting languages such as Python.
