Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Enterprise Applications to lead our technology initiatives and drive the evolution of our e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web and mobile application development, API development and integration, and team management. This role is pivotal in transforming our current systems to a more scalable, efficient, and customer-centric technology stack.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with business goals, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. Assess existing stack for improvement opportunities. Justify build versus buy.
  • Technical Oversight: Collaborate with Principal Architect to define technical solution as part of user story grooming, provide hands-on technical guidance to the developers.
  • Technical Operation Manage the technical execution for strategic and maintenance projects to ensure sprint objectives are achieved on time while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Production Support
    Partner with the DevOps and Infrastructure team to monitor and support application issues within SLA.

  • Team Development
    Recruit, train, and retain top talent within the development team. Promote continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Collaboration: Align closely with the prioritized roadmap from Digital Product Management, and other departments to ensure technology initiatives meet the business-as-usual and strategic needs.
  • Compliance and Security
    Partner with the InfoSec team to ensure all technology solutions comply with industry standards and regulations, implementing best practices for data security and privacy.

  • Performance Monitoring
    Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor system performance, bugs and errors, and team productivity.

  • Vendor Relations
    Manage relationships with external vendors and partners involved in technology projects.

  • Executive Readout: Provide frequent update on team performance and workload, technical outlook and improvement recommendations

Essential Skills/Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in technology roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience in modernizing monolithic platforms to Next.js headless architecture.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating with e-commerce marketplaces, launching e-commerce mobile applications and other pivotal features.
  • Strong background in building scalable API using Laravel and MuleSoft.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in PHP, MySQL Next.js, React, Laravel, Phalcon, Lumen, MuleSoft, AWS technologies.
  • Expertise in customizing WooCommerce and WordPress plugins.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, JavaScript, jQuery) and responsive design principles.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong project and time management skills with experience using Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
