Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Tactical HR Coordinator/Assistant to support our HR department within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is crucial in assisting with day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth HR processes, and enhancing workforce engagement. The Tactical HR Coordinator/Assistant will work closely with HR leadership and other departments, providing support in recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with all HR policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicating with applicants.
- Assist with new hire onboarding, preparing orientation materials, and ensuring a positive experience for new team members.
- Facilitate completion of pre-employment screenings, background checks, and necessary paperwork.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, responding to questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and general employment-related topics.
- Support HR management in addressing employee concerns, gathering feedback, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and recognition programs to boost morale and team cohesiveness.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee data changes, terminations, promotions, and other personnel actions within HRIS.
- Maintain HR records, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws and company policies.
- Assist in payroll preparation, leave tracking, and attendance management as needed.
Benefits Administration
- Provide support in benefits enrollment, answering employee questions regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Assist in administering leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws such as FMLA and ADA.
- Collaborate with the HR team to manage annual open enrollment and benefits-related communications.
Training and Development
- Support coordination of training sessions, safety programs, and compliance training for employees.
- Track and monitor employee training progress, certifications, and development plans.
Data Management and Reporting
- Compile and analyze HR metrics and assist in preparing reports on recruitment, turnover, attendance, and other key performance indicators.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in data handling and maintain up-to-date personnel files and records.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in HR, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to the production floor.
- May require occasional travel for recruiting events or training sessions.
