Human Resources Generalist

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Generalist to join our team at our manufacturing facility. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented HR professional capable of managing the full spectrum of HR Generalist responsibilities, from recruitment and employee relations to compliance and performance management. The HR Generalist will be integral to fostering a positive work environment, ensuring HR processes run smoothly, and providing tactical HR support that aligns with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and pre-employment checks.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and source qualified candidates, particularly for skilled manufacturing roles.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process, facilitating new hire orientation and training for seamless integration into the team.
Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, fostering open communication and resolving issues promptly.
- Handle employee relations issues such as grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution with a fair and compliant approach.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture, supporting employee engagement and retention efforts.
Performance Management
- Coordinate the performance review process, working with managers to establish goals, conduct evaluations, and facilitate development plans.
- Provide guidance on addressing performance issues, documenting necessary actions, and assisting with performance improvement plans.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives to retain and grow high-performing employees.
Compliance and Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and OSHA.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure relevance and compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct audits and maintain accurate personnel records and files in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Benefits Administration
- Oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, acting as a resource for employees with questions about health, dental, retirement, and other benefits.
- Manage leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with FMLA and other regulatory requirements.
- Support the HR team in coordinating annual open enrollment and benefits-related communications.
Training and Development
- Coordinate training programs, including safety training, compliance training, and job-specific skill development.
- Track training completion and certification requirements, ensuring all employees meet necessary compliance standards.
- Support leadership development programs and foster a learning culture within the organization.
HR Operations and Data Management
- Maintain and update employee information in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports on turnover, attendance, performance, and other key indicators to inform HR strategies.
- Assist with payroll preparation, attendance tracking, and ensuring accuracy in timekeeping records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Working Conditions:
- Primarily based in an office setting with periodic visits to the manufacturing floor as required.
- Some travel may be required for recruitment events, training, or employee relations matters.
