Compensation: $55-$65/hr., based on experience

Capstone IT is assisting our client, a prominent leader in the insurance and financial services industry, in hiring a Senior User Experience Designer for a remote, 12 to 24-month contract with potential for Contract-to-Hire, based in Omaha, NE.

In this role, you will create user-centered, accessible designs for data-sharing platforms. You will collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, and cross-functional teams to build visually engaging and functional user interfaces that meet accessibility and usability standards. Key responsibilities include supporting Agile processes, working with design tools like Figma and Adobe Suite, and contributing to a cohesive user experience. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and experience in a collaborative design environment.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement user-friendly, accessible UI components aligned with company standards.
Optimize UI for performance and accessibility across multiple devices.
Conduct comprehensive UI testing and ensure continuous code improvement.
Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Maintain and update UI components with new design patterns and accessibility improvements.
Perform regular accessibility audits and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0 standards.
Present design solutions clearly to stakeholders and adapt based on feedback.
Develop modular and reusable UI components.
Implement responsive design principles to ensure seamless functionality across devices.
Integrate third-party libraries to enhance UI capabilities while maintaining code quality.
Address bugs and user-reported issues, ensuring consistent updates and fixes.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
Solid understanding of UX principles, wireframing, and user-centered design practices.
In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0).
Experience with Agile methodologies, including user story creation.
Familiarity with front-end development processes and design handoffs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, show initiative, and adapt to project needs.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on design trends and tools.
Creative approach to balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
