Responsibilities
Project Supervision
- Oversee the installation of plumbing systems in commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
Team Management
- Lead and coordinate a team of plumbers, subcontractors, and other tradespeople. Assign tasks, and ensure the quality of work meets the company’s standards.
Manpower Forecasting
- Accurately predict and allocate the manpower required for each phase of the project. Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet deadlines without overstaffing.
Scheduling & Planning
- Create and manage the project schedule, ensuring work is completed on time and in coordination with other trades. Adjust timelines as necessary to accommodate delays or changes.
Quality Control
- Ensure installations meet both company and industry standards. Identify and resolve any issues with workmanship or adherence to project specifications.
Material & Equipment Management
- Oversee the procurement, handling, and distribution of plumbing materials and equipment. Ensure materials are available when needed and manage inventory to prevent delays.
Safety Compliance
- Enforce company and OSHA safety regulations on-site. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure workers are following all safety protocols to avoid accidents.
Budget Management
- Track project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring work stays within the allocated budget. Identify areas for cost savings without compromising quality.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain open communication with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
Coordination with Other Trades
- Work closely with other trade superintendents (electrical, HVAC, etc.) to ensure plumbing work is aligned with other construction activities. Avoid conflicts in scheduling and space use.
Problem Solving
- Address on-site challenges such as unforeseen plumbing issues, weather delays, or conflicts with other trades. Develop solutions quickly to keep the project on track.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, inspections, and project changes. Provide regular reports to management and clients regarding job status, timelines, and costs.
Code Compliance
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal codes, as well as any specific project requirements or certifications.
Subcontractor Oversight
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to the project scope, schedule, and quality standards.
Change Order Management
- Evaluate and manage changes to project scope, ensuring additional work is approved, properly documented, and incorporated into the project schedule and budget.
Minimum Job Requirements:
· A minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple commercial mechanical projects. Wage DOE
· Prior experience within the estimating commercial plumbing projects
· Possession of a valid Alaska driver’s license and satisfactory driver record
· Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
· Proficiency in reading and comprehending plans, specifications, blueprints, proposals, and other project-related documents.
· Computer literacy, including the ability to navigate construction reporting applications.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in interpreting/understanding drawings, technical articles, specifications, and blueprints.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively multitask and maintain organizational efficiency.
- Skill in managing projects, subcontractors, and vendors.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
· Involves physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
· Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the shift.
Work may include moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour DOE

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
Experience:
- Plumbing Superintendent: 5 years minimum (Required)
License/Certification:
