Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to oversee and manage the installation of sheet metal components in our commercial roofing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial roofing, specifically in sheet metal work, and possess excellent leadership and organizational skills. As the Sheet Metal Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating project activities, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee all sheet metal roofing installations, including flashing, coping, gutters, downspouts, and other metal components.
- Lead and supervise sheet metal crews on various commercial roofing projects, ensuring efficiency and quality in all installations.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, industry standards, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure timely completion of all sheet metal work.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide solutions to ensure that projects stay on track.
- Maintain proper inventory of sheet metal materials, ensuring timely ordering and delivery to job sites.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
- Train and mentor sheet metal workers to promote skill development and uphold company standards.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on job progress, crew performance, and material usage.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in sheet metal installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role in commercial roofing.
- Extensive knowledge of sheet metal work, including layout, fabrication, and installation for commercial roofing projects.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and crew management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings related to sheet metal work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
