Griffin Resources is recruiting for a Manufacturing Operations Engineer on behalf of 3G Shielding Specialties.

Our diverse product portfolio includes custom board level shielding, enclosure shielding, microwave absorbers, and thermal interface materials, enabling us to deliver integrated, turn-key packages. As a rapidly expanding organization, we are in the process of shifting production of our flagship fabricated metalwork product line from Canada to the United States. This transition presents a unique opportunity to build a new manufacturing facility from the ground up, allowing us to refine our processes and enhance our operations. Position Overview:

We are seeking a high-caliber Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to drive our production transition. This is a key leadership role that requires a blend of technical competence and cultural fit, with a strong emphasis on ambition, commitment, and problem-solving. The ideal candidates will have a solid engineering background and an operational mindset, ready to take on the challenges of building and managing our new facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transition of production from Canada to the US, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate on the development and setup of the new shop while implementing improved processes and systems.
  • Foster a culture of hard work, innovation, and teamwork within the organization.
  • Drive problem-solving initiatives and optimize workflows to meet production goals.
  • Handle logistical tasks related to building operations, including machine installation, electrical hookups, and obtaining permits from the city of St. Petersburg.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to travel to Canada to engage in immersive training for up to three weeks a month for six months to gain specialized knowledge & training.
  • Proven experience in engineering or a related technical field, with a strong operational focus and experience in custom architecture.
  • High ambition and commitment to driving results in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a desire to grow with the organization.

  • Proven experience in industrial engineering principles related to production systems, process optimization, and efficiency improvements.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, materials, and general aspects of engineering.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks; sheet metal design is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Striker Systems CAM software; proficiency is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize processes and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to mentor and guide team members during the transition and setup phases.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles with managerial components.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and solve problems under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to clearly convey ideas to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce light reports with a qualitative approach to metrics.
  • Capacity for informed decision-making based on data and team input.
