Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and oversee and execute follow-up activities
  • Communicate identified risks concerns and ambiguities to project management team and assist with in developing solutions and mitigation strategies
  • Maintain regular communication with other EHR/Epic teams, as well as participating/leading in weekly project team meetings
  • Work well with EHR/ Epic teams and Organization’s business community, and end-users to ensure the system meets the organizations business needs
  • Coordinate user groups and project teams, convening conference calls and meetings and maintaining minutes and follow-up logs.
  • Work collaboratively with Systems Analyst to develop designs, mockups and prototypes.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level analysts
  • Communicate technical design issues to non-technical people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-moving team.
  • Ability to lead Business in programs with complex projects.
  • Work within timeline and resource constraints provided by the Project Manager.
  • Provide ongoing communication with users, managers, corporate directors and vendors to assure support and current initiatives.
  • See implementation of new modules or departments from beginning through support.
  • Experience with previous Community Connect implementation.
  • Experience with HL7 communications (READ & TROUBLESHOOT HL7 MESSAGES)
  • Experienced working in a Project Management Office (PMO) with cross-functional teams is a plus.
  • Epic Certification must be current or within prior release version of system’s current version REQUIRED
  • Ability to assume ownership of a project, create guidance where there isn’t any and influence the direction if it is not correct.
  • Strong written and spoken language skills are a must and a strong background in clinical healthcare technologies and processes is strongly preferred.
  • This role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and

  1. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.

Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).

Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.

  1. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or

  1. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:

  • EpicCareAmbulatory Certification REQUIRED
  • Charge Router Certification, preferred
  • Epic Order Transmittal, preferred
  • Orders Transmittal Certification preferred
  • Results Routing experience preferred
  • Printer and Workstation Mapping experience
  • Clinical background in Ambulatory Clinics preferred
  • End User Support experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:

  • Clinical or Public Health experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS office including PowerPoint, Visio and PDF within an Intermediate level at minimum REQUIRED

Years of Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications REQUIRED
  • 10+ Years of Healthcare IT/Informatics experience REQUIRED
  • At least 6 full life-cycle implementations REQUIRED
