Project Summary

Join the Refinery Control Systems Support Team as a Control Systems Engineer/Analyst, where you’ll be pivotal in maintaining the safety, reliability, and compliance of refinery process control systems. This role focuses on supporting our digital assets and control systems within refinery operations at a specific plant/area.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and support hardware for Distributed Control Systems (Honeywell TDC3000 and Experion), Safety Shutdown Systems (Triconex, Honeywell FSC), and PLC applications.
  • Collaborate with Operations and support Control Rooms as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement optimized control systems to enhance process safety and reliability.
  • Update system documentation and procedures as necessary.
  • Provide technical and analytical insights to support business planning and project development.
  • Ensure that compliance requirements are met safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain system backup media and contingency recovery protocols.

Specific Responsibilities During Assignment

  • Provide comprehensive DCS support as a general resource across the refinery and support the Operator Training System (OTS) and DCS/PLC Lifecycle projects.
  • Manage and maintain hybrid TPS-EPKS systems and third-party systems such as FSC, Triconex, and PLCs.
  • Support major turnaround activities and routine installation of Honeywell patches for PCN/CSN-connected devices.
  • Maintain off-process training and development systems.
  • Mentor and train new CSEs to support their development.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Chemical), or Information Technology.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience may be considered in place of formal education. Relevant positions include:
  • Control Systems Engineer/Analyst/Technician
  • Process Control Engineer
  • Instrumentation & Electrical Technician
  • Analyzer Technician
  • PCN Administrator
  • System Engineer/Technician

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and familiarity with control systems for refining, chemical, or petrochemical facilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects across various sites.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills to set priorities and schedules independently and, if required, lead a small team.
