Senior Oil & Gas Counsel - Leading Financial Services Firm

We are collaborating with an established investment firm seeking an experienced attorney to lead its oil and gas mergers and acquisitions legal function. As the firm continues to expand its footprint in the energy sector, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic growth and drive impactful transactions.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate closely with front office professionals, including portfolio managers and trading teams, providing legal guidance on complex M&A transactions within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Serve as a key legal resource on regulatory compliance, environmental laws, and other legal matters relevant to oil and gas operations.
• Advise senior stakeholders on existing and emerging regulations, ensuring the firm navigates the complexities of the energy market effectively.
• Lead corporate governance matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, due diligence, and integration processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive experience in Oil and Gas M&A transactions, with a strong understanding of industry-specific legal frameworks.
• Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making at the highest levels.
• A proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing strategic solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 6-7+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong understanding of legal issues related to securities trading across various asset classes.
• Ability to convey complex legal terminology in a simplified manner.
