Information Technology Engineer

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit a skilled and highly motivated IT Engineer to join our client's IT team. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining domain infrastructure, ensuring security, performance, and reliability. You will play a key role in overseeing M365 tenant, physical and virtual infrastructure, Active Directory, group policies, and user management. They are growing through acquisition, so setting the standards and migrating acquired companies to our standard will also be a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory and Entra, including user accounts, M365 mailboxes, groups, and permissions.
  • Implement and manage group policies to ensure compliance and security across the domain.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot domain-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain DNS, DHCP, and other network services within the domain environment.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to design and implement domain structure for optimal performance.
  • Conduct regular audits of user accounts and permissions to maintain security and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for domain configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for domain-related issues to staff and end-users.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to domain and network administration.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of information technology related experience
  • Experience with cloud networking and virtualized environments (e.g., AWS, Azure). Proven experience in project management, network administration, security management, data center operations, and vendor management.
  • Proven experience as a Domain/Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of M365, Intune, Active Directory, and group policies.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and management tools.
  • Understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience managing wired and wireless networks.
  • Experience working with security related products (AV, SIEM, etc.)
  • Experience supporting organizations with remote employees and geographically dispersed locations.
  • Experience managing virtual and physical infrastructure including switches, WAPs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.
  • Experience working with vendors to identify and complete tasks and projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSE).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and data center best practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to forge strong partnerships with third-party providers.
  • High sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
