Director of Infrastructure and Security Operations

Our direct client is in need of a Director of Infrastructure and Security Operations in their Albuquerque, NM office, for a contract to hire role. The Director of Infrastructure & Security Operations is responsible for overseeing the company’s entire infrastructure, both cloud and on-premises, with a focus on ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. This role leads the infrastructure and security teams, setting strategy and managing the daily operations of network systems, data centers, and security protocols. The Director is also responsible for vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the infrastructure team, including cloud and data center resources.
• Oversee the company’s network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies, managing backup operations (Veeam).
• Monitor system performance and ensure network and system availability.
• Drive strategy for hybrid infrastructure (Azure and on-premise) and security operations.
• Manage budgets and vendor relationships, negotiating contracts for hardware and services.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations (SOC, PCI-DSS, etc.).
• Act as an escalation point for critical infrastructure and security incidents.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and security leadership roles.
• Expertise in VMWare, Azure, networking, and security technologies (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Strong knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
