Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Overview: As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will design, configure, and build serverless cloud-native applications essential for hosting business-critical applications that differentiate our company in the market. This hands-on, senior-level role in the Advisory organization will focus on developing cloud-native services to support our overall cloud strategy and migration to AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in the design, architecture, and development of solutions using modern cloud-based architecture and tools.
  • Accountable for redesigning legacy systems from on-premise to cloud-based solutions.
  • Build and define best practices for common/reusable components.
  • Develop scalable and resilient solutions, ensuring proper instrumentation for the overall observability of platforms and services.
  • Participate in Scrum/Kanban delivery models to deliver sprint releases through stories/epics using Jira for tracking development work and overall velocity.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and utilizing AWS application integration services like SNS, SQS, Step Functions, and EventBridge.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS Container services like EKS, ECS, Fargate.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS Storage and Database services like S3, Aurora PostgreSQL, and RDS.
  • Excellent programming experience with API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Tools and SDK, AWS CLI, and CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency in AWS Networking capabilities like AWS App Mesh, CloudFront, and Route 53.
  • 10+ years of experience in at least one language (C#, .NET Core) and full-stack development.
  • 10+ years of experience working with RDBMS technologies like MSSQL, Oracle, or others.
  • 5+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of experience in a lead role, overseeing development teams, delivering quality solutions, and coaching teams on best practices.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of distributed/decoupled systems using messaging platforms.
  • Solid experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • In-depth understanding of AWS’s Well-Architected Frameworks.
  • Thorough understanding of modern work practices such as DevOps, CI/CD, Agile project delivery, and release engineering.
  • Highly collaborative with experience in a hands-on technical leadership role.

Preferences:

  • AWS certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong executive presence.
  • Ability to convey technical solutions across the organization and experience working with senior leaders to leverage technology for positive business outcomes.
