Our client is a well-established textile distribution company with an office in South Florida, focused on delivering high-quality products and services to our clients. We are looking for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This person will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office's IT systems, network security, and technology infrastructure.
Job Overview:
As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will oversee the daily management and support of IT systems and network infrastructure for our small office. You will be responsible for managing help desk tickets, overseeing network and systems security, supporting Sage 100 ERP integrations, and assisting with provisioning of new desktops and laptops. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow in the IT field and gain hands-on experience in systems administration and IT support.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Network & Systems Security: Monitor and maintain network security protocols, ensuring the security of internal systems and sensitive data. Address potential vulnerabilities and support security updates and patches.
  • Sage 100 Support & Integrations: Provide ongoing support for Sage 100 ERP system, troubleshoot integration issues, and work on system configurations to optimize functionality.
  • Help Desk Management: Manage and respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner. Provide technical support to employees on various hardware and software issues, including desktop/laptop support and troubleshooting.
  • Provisioning New Equipment: Set up, configure, and provision new desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment for new hires. Assist with onboarding IT setups and user account creation.
  • System Maintenance & Updates: Perform regular system backups, updates, and patch management to ensure all systems and software are up-to-date and operating efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Resolve issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and internal systems. Assist with resolving technical problems for staff across various departments.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth IT operations. Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and support issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT support or systems administration role, preferably in a small to medium-sized office environment.
  • Strong understanding of network security practices and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 ERP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing help desk tickets and providing end-user support.
  • Knowledge of desktop and laptop provisioning, including OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and other common business tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic experience with networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery systems.
  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus but not required.
