Technical Support Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and reduce damage to data center hardware parts.
  • Assist site leadership in implementing damage reduction strategies through process checks for handling, packaging, and storage.
  • Execute the damaged parts process, ensuring proper verification and quarantine of damaged items.
  • Support key field campaigns and failure investigations.

Daily Tasks:

  • Conduct damage inspections and repairs on critical parts.
  • Perform quick testing on approximately 100 Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) weekly.
  • Verify damage claims for up to 100 parts each week.
  • Repair damaged components, including cleaning thermal paste and straightening connectors.
  • Audit handling, ESD processes, and packaging at various touchpoints in the Data Center.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of electronic parts used in Data Center hardware (e.g., motherboards, DIMMs, hard drives).
  • Ability to conduct first-level failure analysis of electronic components.
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment (e.g., stereo microscopes).
  • Proficiency in PC data recording and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others.
  • Physical capability to handle medium to heavy materials.

Desired:

  • Experience in quality assurance within the electronics industry.
  • Background in troubleshooting and repairing server/storage/networking products.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and databases
