Role Summary

The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of operations at our Chattanooga warehouse. This position will focus on developing and managing Quality Control Procedures (QCPs) for various product classes, collaborating closely with engineering, repair technicians, and service operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with a background in industrial or electrical engineering, who can translate complex technical data into actionable procedures. They will work cross-functionally to implement Lean processes, manage product failure documentation, and continuously improve quality control based on real-time feedback from reports such as 8D and Non-conformance Reports (NCR).

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Procedures (QCPs)

Develop and write QCPs based on Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters from New Product Development (NPD).

Failure Mode Catalog

Collaborate with Repair Technicians and Engineering teams to build and maintain a Failure Mode Catalog for each product class.

Work Instructions

Partner with Service Operations to create and implement Lean processes, ensuring efficient and effective workflows.

Kitting Operations

Design and optimize processes for kitting operations.

QCP Updates

Evaluate and update QCPs based on findings from 8D reports and Non-conformance Reports (NCR).

DFMEA and PFMEA Translation

Translate Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) into QCP and assist in integrating Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) into QCP

Required Qualifications:

  • Education
    Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Experience
    Have a technical background, ideally in communications or electrical engineering.

  • Hands-on approach
    Ability to work in the field and engage directly with operations.

  • Self-Starter
    Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.

  • Communication Skills
    Must be able to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, and international colleagues, across various disciplines and languages.

  • Organizational Skills
    Proven ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and documents simultaneously.

This is an onsite role based in Chattanooga, Tennessee
