Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality issues. This role will also involve leading root cause investigations, supporting the Bill of Materials (BOM) process, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, ensuring products meet the highest standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Root Cause Analysis & CAPA
- Lead root cause investigations for quality issues and develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) to address them.
- Documentation Management
- Create and maintain detailed quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, inspection reports, and related records.
- BOM Oversight
- Oversee the Bill of Materials (BOM) process, collaborating with engineering and production teams to update BOMs as necessary for new designs or changes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement best practices across the organization.
- Internal Audits
- Assist in conducting internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards, processes, and industry regulations.
- Process Improvement
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements in manufacturing and quality assurance practices to increase efficiency and reduce defects.
- Quality Metrics
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, recommending actions for enhancement and tracking improvements over time.
Knowledge/Skills Preferences:
- Educational Requirements
- BS/MS degree required, with a preference for Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME), or equivalent technical background.
- Experience
- 2+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance, preferably within the renewable energy sector or related industries.
- Analytical Skills
- Highly analytical with exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Documentation Management
- Strong ability to organize and manage quality documentation effectively.
- Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-Starter
- Motivated and proactive individual able to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills
- Basic programming skills are a plus (e.g., Python, VBA, etc.) to assist in data analysis or automation.
