Process Controls Engineer

Koch Modular Process Systems, LLC is currently seeking a hard-working, talented individual to join our Electrical, Instrumenation & Controls Group. This position is responsible for developing specifications as well as design, review, development and commissioning, of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for industrial equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, review and assist in creation of:
- Specifications for electrical components such as: process instrumentation, motors, lighting, control systems, electric heat tracing, etc.
- Process functional control descriptions.
- PLC/HMI/DCS programming.
- Electrical documents such as: loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel drawings, electrical installation details, etc.
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Control system and electrical inspection, testing (FAT), commissioning and start-up. Including: module assembly shops, control panels, instrumentation, other electrical components and control system programming.
- Review customer specifications to develop scope of supply and implementation. Prepare bid specifications and review vendor documentation for adherence to project specifications.
- NFPA/NEC/CSA/ATEX electrical design for hazardous area applications.
- Collaborate with other engineering and drafting disciplines to design electrical and control systems.
- Specification, review and selection of all types of valves and instrumentation for the control and monitoring of process equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Engineering or technical bachelor’s degree. Chemical or Mechanical engineering preferred.
- Minimum relevant work experience: 2 years with engineering degree or 5 years with other technical degree. Multi-disciplinary engineering or technical background a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD, DCS/PLC programming a plus. Additional training to be provided as needed.
- Energetic individual with highly proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must possess creative problem-solving skills, strong critical thinking skills and a high attention to detail.
