Technical Staffing Resources, is looking for a CSE Engineer to join our client, a global leader in the EPC Industry. This contract role is located in Port Sulphur, LA.
KBR is looking for a CSEEngineer to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.
Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.
The CSEEngineer will work as a part of a team of engineersthat are be responsible for the technical and operational commissioning and start up of the process control system scope including DCS, Telecommunications, Instrumentation, and Process Analyzer. This role is an on-site role at the Plaquemines facility.
This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.
The CSE Engineer will produce testing procedures for instrument control loops and equipment packages for approval by the Client team and support the preparation of pre-commissioning and commissioning dossiers. On site this role will also be responsible for monitoring the completion of those dossiers, ensuring necessary documentation is included such as ITRs, certificates, Red-Line Mark-Ups, punch status etc.

- Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures
- Use strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources, producing tangible results
- Provides clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentation
- Creates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list
- Communicates and resolves technical issues as related to project objectives
- Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, project controls, and all other departments
- Ensures all project documentation is completed
- Assist with the testing of safety related control systems, including Fire & Gas, FACPs, ESD, SIL and SIF Loops - Cause and Effect testing will form part of this requirement
- Hands on experience with Hazardous Area regulations (EExd, Exia, EExe) when dealing with instrumentation systems
- Instruct & direct Instrument technicians to accomplish loop checks required to handover the various systems and sub-systems for the project to enable Substantial Completion / RFSU, including to ensure that Co-Console electronic recording is correctly completed and that the Clients representatives approve sign-off
- Assist with and participate in completion system walkdowns on site with a multi-disciplined team
- Participate in regular progress and co-ordination meetings with Client and Contractors
- Follow-up for the effective sign-off of field generated punch lists
- Assist with daily risk assessments and permits for all site-based Pre-Commissioning and CSU activities
- Required Education, Experience, & Skills:EDUCATION: 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of industrial refining, petrochemical, LNG, or heavy industries experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical control systems
- 5+ years of relevant field experience
- Total Minimum 10 years of experience
- Experience developing process control specifications and control system design
- Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers
- Demonstrated Experience in Process Control Systems and Network Architectures : DCS, PLC, SIS, BMS
- Demonstrated Experience in Instrumentation
- Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules
- Knowledge of and exposure to telecoms, cyber security, and process analyzer engineering.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
