Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring they meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that impact energy infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams from conceptual planning through construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Analysis: Lead the design of transmission lines, including route selection, structure design, and conductor specifications using industry-standard software like PLS-CADDPLS-POLE, and AutoCAD
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct detailed feasibility studies, route analysis, and cost estimations to optimize transmission line design for both new and existing infrastructure.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (NESC, IEEE) and meet environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to drive project success, providing engineering support during construction and resolving any technical challenges.
- Field Support: Oversee site inspections and ensure that construction adheres to design specifications and quality standards, supporting testing and commissioning of new lines.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and project documentation, tracking progress and ensuring accurate cost management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred).
- 3-7 years of experience in transmission line design, with proficiency in software like PLS-CADDPLS-POLEAutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles, structural design, load analysis, and high-voltage transmission systems.
- Experience working within regulatory frameworks and managing environmental and safety compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers.
