Primary Point of Contact for Electrical Inquiries
- Act as the go-to person for any electrical questions or issues related to Cobra, both internally and externally. This includes questions from:
- Customers regarding signal integration, power supply, transformers, and sensor systems.
- Service teams needing assistance with diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.
- Cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software teams, for ensuring seamless integration of electrical systems with the overall Cobra platform??.
- Handle customer support and inquiries on any electrical aspect, such as signal compatibility, cabling, and power requirements for unique setups?.
- On-Site and Remote Electrical Troubleshooting
- Take ownership of troubleshooting electrical issues both at customer sites and remotely. Be capable of solving:
- Signal integrity issues in communication protocols (RS485, I2C, UART).
- Power supply problems, including transformer validation and power distribution.
- Sensor calibration issues and signal noise that may affect system performance???.
- Ensure that customers’ systems are running smoothly by providing direct electrical support when needed.
- Cable Harness Design and Vendor Management
- Design and oversee the development of custom cable harnesses for Cobra systems. Ensure the right connectors, shielding, and cable materials are chosen based on signal type, power level, and environmental conditions??.
- Work directly with cable vendors to ensure the manufacturing of high-quality, durable cable assemblies that meet the specific requirements of each customer and Cobra system.
- Oversee the validation and testing of cable assemblies to ensure they meet Cobra’s performance standards??.
- Power Supply Design and Transformer Selection
- Select and validate step-down transformers and other power supply components for Cobra systems, ensuring they are compatible with customer power infrastructure (e.g., 110V to 100V for international customers).
- Validate and test transformers in the field, ensuring they provide stable, clean power under load?.
- Document and advise customers on how to properly use and maintain transformers to avoid power issues?.
- Continuous Improvement of Cobra Products
- Lead efforts in improving Cobra’s electrical systems, including:
- Refining signal processing, power distribution, and communication protocols to ensure higher reliability, better performance, and easier integration.
- Developing new methods for integrating customer-specific signals and equipment, continuously enhancing Cobra’s flexibility to meet diverse industry requirements?.
- Propose and implement innovations to Cobra’s electrical systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction??.
- Documentation and Service Team Training
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on how to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair common electrical issues in Cobra systems, including:
- Signal issues (noise, calibration, and signal loss)
- Power supply problems (transformers, voltage drops, and current draw)
- Communication protocol failures??.
- Regularly train the service team on diagnosing electrical problems, using tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters, and performing on-site repairs. Ensure that the service team is fully self-sufficient in handling basic to intermediate electrical issues??.
- Lead Electrical R&D for Product Evolution
- Take charge of R&D for electrical components in future versions of Cobra, including researching new sensors, communication methods, and power supply technologies
- Work on modular electrical designs that allow for easier scaling and customization, reducing the time required to integrate Cobra into new customer environments??.
- Continuously gather feedback from customers and service teams to identify areas for improvement and drive the development of more robust, user-friendly electrical systems?.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and management teams to ensure that electrical components fit seamlessly within the broader Cobra system architecture.
- Ensure that all improvements to electrical systems are well-documented and communicated across teams to avoid compatibility issues and ensure smooth deployment in the field?.
- Customer-Focused Electrical Support and Solutions
- Develop custom solutions for customers with unique electrical requirements. This includes working on bespoke signal integrations, cable layouts, and power distribution for customers who have specialized needs.
- Ensure that all customer systems are well-supported by providing expert guidance on electrical setups and system integration?.
- Escalation Point for Complex Electrical Issues
- Act as the point of escalation for any complex electrical issues that the service team cannot resolve independently. Provide both remote and on-site troubleshooting when necessary, ensuring quick resolution to critical problems??.
- Track and monitor recurring issues to improve Cobra’s electrical system designs, ensuring fewer problems occur in the field?.
