Summary:
Established Miami garment manufacturer is looking for an experienced, meticulous bookkeeper. The position is “in office”. At present the position will consist of three days a week, with the expectation to develop into a full-time role within 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
The following functions of the accounts receivable process:
- Bank deposits, cash applications, cash reconciliations, and monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely payments. Customers are comprised of businesses located domestically, in Canada and internationally.
- Manage the cash application and recording process for our web business which processes on the Shopify platform
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions and payment history
- Work closely with the Controller, accountant and management team to develop policies and monitor progress.
- Develop and implement efficient bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Process payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Prepare and pay monthly commissions for contracted sales force
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Collaborate with external accountants for audits and tax preparation.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for all financial documents.
- Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making processes
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in e-commerce and Shopify platform a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
