Maintenance Supervisor (1st Shift)

An industry leading, multi-billion dollar aerospace and defense manufacturing organization is currently looking to add a 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor to their growing team. This is a plant based manufacturing position and would be based at their rapidly expanding manufacturing location.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, supervise, evaluate, and coach assigned maintenance personnel. Assist Lead Operators with planning work and use of resources (people, tools, equipment, etc.) to maximize efficiency and the quality of the work performed.
- Assist Engineer(s) and Manager(s) with project planning and contractor supervision on major new equipment installation projects (such as new furnaces, major modifications, upgrades, re-build etc.)
- Generate, prioritize and manage projects (as assigned) relating to capacity expansions, new technologies and/or equipment-based process improvements. Support Quality initiatives as required ensuring success (CQI, ISO9002, etc.). Participate on various types of teams as required.
- Responsible for coordination of reliability improvement, productivity improvement, quality improvement, and process development projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities of equipment to minimize the possibility of unscheduled failures and to optimize the frequency of these activities.
- Review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports and determine/evaluate corrective action items and the impact of corrective action items to the preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure adequate supplies of spare parts are available to maintain the melting operations.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager in developing short-term & long-term goals, for the Production, Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement success of the site.
- Maintain the equipment mechanical and electrical prints.
- Recommend modifications to improve reliability, quality and productivity of the site equipment. Oversee modifications as authorized. Work with engineering and management to develop solutions to recurring problems. Follow solutions and modifications through to installation. Evaluate effectiveness of actions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of maintenance experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of lead or supervisory experience within manufacturing
- Strong mechanical aptitude required.
- Strong leadership skills; demonstrated competency in the supervisory and technical skills required to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.
- Ability to operate independently and use time efficiently/effectively.
- Knowledge of TIG welding copper, stainless and mild steels.
- Knowledge of MIG welding.
