Gibbs Consulting is seeking experienced Card Processors Banking Architect / Card Processors Banking Principal Architect x 2 is responsible for aligning IT architecture strategies with the overall business goals of the organization with a specific focus on card payment processing systems. The role involves leading architectural governance, managing large-scale IT transformation projects and overseeing the technical delivery of solutions that span across complex environments with multiple stakeholders. This position requires deep technical expertise in card processing platforms like TSys, FirstData or VisionPlus, alongside leadership and pre-sales experience. The Card Processors Architect will ensure that all architectural initiatives are delivered with precision, cost-effectiveness and in alignment with organizational standards.

Position Details:

• Location: US – Chicago/New York/Dallas/Atlanta/Florida/Boston/North Carolina (travel to one of these locations will be required)

Key responsibilities and skills but not limited:

• At least 10 years of experience in enterprise, solution or technical architecture roles with a strong track record of success in large-scale, complex environments.
• Experience in business and IT architecture, particularly in the banking sector, with a focus on payments, servicing, and card processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with card processing platforms such as TSys, FirstData, or VisionPlus is essential.
• Strong understanding of card processing technologies and their integration with other banking platforms such as payments, core banking, and open banking systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in modernizing legacy card processing systems to meet the evolving demands of the financial services industry.
• Proven track record of implementing core banking solutions in large, complex environments.
• Proven experience leading pre-sales activities and managing client engagements, preferably in large, complex deals.
• Strong understanding of architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Experience in IT management disciplines, ensuring that technology assets and resources are effectively aligned with business goals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IT transformation programs in large, complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience chairing and participating in architectural governance boards, ensuring strategic alignment and quality assurance across all deliverables.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior business leaders, technical teams and external vendors.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams toward common objectives.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with emerging trends in card processing, such as real-time payments, contactless technologies, and blockchain-based payment systems.
• Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
