Job opportunity in US – Permanent - Principal Architect (Core Banking) – US based
Gibbs Consulting is seeking experienced Principal Architect (Core Banking) is responsible for shaping and aligning IT strategies with the business objectives of the organization, particularly in the area of core banking systems. This individual will lead architectural governance, manage the design and transformation of IT solutions in large, complex environments and ensure the efficient execution of core banking modernization projects. The role requires a deep technical background in core banking systems, strong leadership skills and the ability to manage both internal teams and external stakeholders. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all architectural deliverables are aligned with enterprise needs, timelines and budget considerations.

• Location: US – Chicago/New York/Dallas/Atlanta/Florida/Boston/North Carolina (occasional travel to one of these locations will be required)

Key responsibilities and skills but not limited:
• At least 10 years of experience in enterprise, solution or technical architecture roles with a strong track record of success in large-scale, complex environments.
• Experience in business and IT architecture, with a specific focus on core banking systems and modernization initiatives.
• Deep practical knowledge of core banking systems and processes, with a focus on modernizing legacy systems to meet the demands of the digital age.
• Proven track record of implementing core banking solutions in large, complex environments.
• Proven experience leading pre-sales activities and managing client engagements, preferably in large, complex deals.
• Strong understanding of architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Experience in IT management disciplines, ensuring that technology assets and resources are effectively aligned with business goals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IT transformation programs in large, complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience chairing and participating in architectural governance boards, ensuring strategic alignment and quality assurance across all deliverables.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior business leaders, technical teams and external vendors.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams toward common objectives.
Preferred Skills:
• In-depth understanding of emerging trends in banking technology, such as cloud-based core banking, open banking and AI-driven financial services.
• Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
