Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

A unique Food Equipment Manufacturer is looking to add a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their R&D team in the Nashville Metro area. This company is known for its rapid growth, significant promotional opportunities and competitive benefits.

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead hands-on design, technical development, and computer analysis for new and existing capital machinery and technologies.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA)
• Design components for manufacturing using processes like machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, CNC machining, and Autodesk Inventor CAD models
• Develop test procedures, conduct product testing, and validate for production
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses and develop Corrective Action Plans

Must have Experience

• 7+ years of relevant experience with a BS in Mechanical Engineering OR 5+ years of relevant experience with an MS in Mechanical Engineering
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation, preferably using Autodesk Inventor
• Proficiency in performing structural FEA using tools like MSC Nastran or similar
• Design of heavy machinery, preferably for food processing equipment

Salary: 90,000-115,000
