Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing our firm’s financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, and maintaining precise financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Process and code vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies
- Prepare and issue payments via checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain organized and detailed accounts payable records for audit and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues and inquiries
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations
- Support special projects and process improvements within the finance department as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with legal industry practices and regulations is a plus
