Job Summary: Hardware Engineer (Wearables)
Meta Reality Labs is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA! This role with focus on system hardware architecture, integration, and validation for Wearables. The ideal candidate will have strong EE fundamental, system architecture knowledge, and experience integrating new technologies for highly advanced electronic devices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Primary duties will focus on system architecture, integration, validation, and characterization wearable devices
- Work may include but not limited to system bring-up, debug, test, electrical characterization for EVT and DVT builds of the product
- Define platform architecture and specifications
- Independently run project with goals/ drive initiative, not work in shadow but work with team, goal/drive, program management experience/lead,
- Review and approve plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
- Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
- Supervise functioning of equipment and approve modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
- Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
- Provide training and support to system designers and users.
- Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
- Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 plus years of experience within Hardware development, electrical engineering, hardware validation, characterization, integration for electronic devices
- Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals
- Broad hardware experience ranging from board level design, Signal Integrity, System requirements, Architecture definition, System design, Validation, Components selection, Lab bring up & debug, EDVT, High Speed Serdes, EMI, Power Integrity
- Design and execution of manual or automated testing, document measurements and maintain good test data record keeping.
- Experience using standard lab test equipment and function (Oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, LCR meter etc.)
- Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
- Strong knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
