Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Prelitigation Attorney Assistant at our personal injury law firm. In this role, you will support our attorneys in managing cases before litigation, interacting directly with clients and assisting with essential administrative tasks. As the first point of contact for clients and visitors, professionalism and a welcoming demeanor are essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing client treatment records, insurance policies, and liability aspects as required.
- Maintain open communication with clients, medical provider offices, insurance adjusters, and attorneys as necessary to facilitate case progression.
- Conduct legal research under attorney supervision to support case development and strategy.
- Be prepared to cover for case managers and property damage specialists during their absences to ensure continuity in case management.
- Be available to handle incoming calls for pre-litigation attorneys in case of their absence, offering assistance to clients and stakeholders.
- Negotiate attorney liens and pre-litigation settlements to optimize client outcomes.
- Keep clients informed regarding case status, treatment progress, liability assessments, and forthcoming steps in the legal process.
- Try to address and resolve client complaints or issues before escalating them to attorneys, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Assist attorneys in managing their workload, streamlining processes, and enhancing overall efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, pre-law preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Proven ability to organize and manage time effectively, with a strong track record of prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities for clear, concise interactions with clients and team members.
- Skilled in handling mail, email, and fax communications promptly and efficiently.
- Demonstrate discretion in managing and safeguarding confidential information.
- Maintain a consistently high level of professionalism, responding with calmness and courtesy in all situations.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Display a strong work ethic and excels in fostering positive relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
