Systems Engineer

A dynamic IT team in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join them on-site. This role is perfect for a systems engineer who thrives on collaboration and is ready to tackle complex IT challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects and manage systems of varying complexity, focusing on IT systems planning, configuration, and optimization.
• Participate in infrastructure planning, architecture design, and engineering efforts.
• Administer Windows and Linux server operating systems.
• Oversee virtualization platforms including VMware, ESXi, and vSphere.
• Manage the full suite of Microsoft 365 and Azure products.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco and Fortinet network systems.
• Deploy and maintain workloads in the Azure cloud environment.
• Handle escalation tickets for infrastructure-related issues, including system outages.
• Create and update technical documentation as needed.
• Partner with leadership across business functions to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Stay current with and implement cybersecurity best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in Windows system administration using PowerShell (Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, SCCM, Group Policy, Intune, ATP).
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms.
• Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls from Cisco and Fortinet.
• Solid understanding of network design and protocols.
• Advanced skills in VMware-based virtualization platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting with languages like PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Bash, or Python.
