Education & Experience
• 3+ years’ experience in product design and manufacturing of HVAC products
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or other STEM related field or HVAC Engineering Technology Degree/Diploma
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, MS Office Suite, and PDF tools
• Experience in staged gate design process for New Product Development
• Experience in construction drawings
• Ability to simultaneously manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism, cooperation, and persistence
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Essential Functions
Project Application
• Pre-sales activities include, but are not limited to system configuration validation, generate, and respond to RFIs, compliance matrix to customer specifications. This role will receive support and direction from other engineering functions as well as the Customer Relations Team.
• Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations for site-specific conditions
• Modify refrigeration schematics and mechanical drawings
• Responsible for submittal generation, scope, and accuracy
• Support sales with cost estimates
HVAC System Design
• Develop refrigeration subsystems to meet unit performance goals, regulatory requirements, and cost targets.
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of HVAC design work with calculations, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layout of mechanical equipment and associated duct and piping systems, and sequences of operations.
• Work with other engineering functions to integration electrical, control, and mechanical design of HVAC product lines
• Knowledge of design-related codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NEEA, ANSI, CSA, DOE AHRI, Energy Start standards processes and testing methods.
Manufacturing
• Perform engineering quality assurance checks of units throughout manufacturing process
• Support design for manufacturability with operations
• Apply data analytics tools to lab and factory performance data.
• Perform other tasks as required
