Production Manager

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage working department leaders of a union shop
- One on one meetings with each leader, helping them manage their departments and grow as leaders
- Set and manage expectations for productivity goals
- Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel with leaders
- Constantly recruit, onboard, and train new employees
- Assist Carpenters Union for interviews of new apprentices as needed
- Develop training plan for new employees
- Plan and implement a production schedule within the company’s ERP software, INNERGY
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and maintain schedule
- Share production schedule with PMs and management team
- Run weekly Workload Meeting in order to review and update production plan
- Provided regular status reports and capacity plan updates
- Anticipate bottlenecks, clarify priorities, identify risks, and escalate issues that cannot be internally resolved
- Ensure product is manufacturing on time per plan and under budget
- Utilize overtime as necessary while limiting unnecessary overtime
- Create second or third shifts as necessary to meet deadlines
- Report back to sales and estimating with feedback on manufacturing estimates
- Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to
- Ensure the workplace is free from hazards and housekeeping is up to date
- Work with Facilities Manager to ensure equipment is operational and safe
- Ensure standard operating procedures are developed and adhered to
- Work with production staff and OpEx Department to improve processes
- Request feedback from install teams for manufacturing improvements
- Establish and maintain effective quality control systems and processes
- Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments
- Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
- And other duties / responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the company

- Everybody understands how changes to that schedule will impact delivery dates for existing and future work orders.
- That schedule is communicated clearly to all relevant parties and updated regularly.
- Manufacturing work orders are completed on schedule and under budget
- Resources are being utilized at their best, including people, machinery, and outsourcing
- Overtime is utilized as needed to meet dates, without the use of unnecessary overtime
- Employees are continuously safe at work
- The manufacturing team is growing in size and capability

Education and/or Experience:
- Four (4) year degree from college or technical school; four (4) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires strong knowledge of technology, process improvement, and documentation.
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources)
- Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise
- Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, and inventory processes
Computer Requirements – Extensive knowledge of using software systems including:
- ERP / Work Order Software – INNERGY
- Email & Calendar software – MS Outlook
- Spreadsheet, Word Processing, and Presentation software – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Internet software (Chrome, etc)
Language & Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
- Strong ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; mentally, hand-and-paper, and calculator.
- Strong ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, variances, margins, and markups.
- Strong knowledge and application of geometry.
