General Manager

Position Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations which includes managing production, quality control, logistics, finance, sales, and customer relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the commercial glass industry. The General Manager will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team across production, operations, engineering, sales, and administrative departments.
- Develop a strong company culture focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments.
- Establish performance objectives for key staff and ensure accountability for achieving results.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee all manufacturing activities, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency through lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards for quality and durability.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality control program, addressing any issues or discrepancies in the manufacturing process.
- Financial & Strategic Planning:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the manufacturing division.
- Analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Work closely with senior leadership to create and execute long-term strategic plans, including expanding market share and exploring new product lines.
- Sales & Customer Relations:
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify market trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor customer feedback and resolve issues related to product quality or delivery.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive innovation in manufacturing processes, including new technology, equipment, and production methods.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains across the business.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- Previous General Management experience (required)
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within the commercial glass or related industries.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and cross-functional departments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and quality control systems.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in glass manufacturing or a related industry (e.g., construction materials, metal fabrication).
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient manufacturing processes.
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications.
