Job Summary:

The Production Manager is accountable for planning, leading, and managing the day-to-day operations of the entire facility. Maintain and improve the plant infrastructure, creating the environment for developing winning capabilities in safety, service, and operational excellence, as well as developing effective relationships. Contributes to company culture that challenges diversity, appreciates creativity, facilitates innovation, and encourages a safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees the day-to-day workflow of production staff.

• Manages supervisory production staff.

• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to achieving all safety, quality, and production goals.

• Direct activities in area of responsibility to attain maximum plant operating efficiency.

• Provide direction to the team to focus and deliver KPIs.

• Champion diversity and inclusion behaviors.

• Proactively seek and value all types of diversity and work to bring out the contributions of every member

• Actively coach and provide feedback to peers, subordinates, and others as appropriate developing future talent.

• Build organizational capability through proactive coaching of the direct reports on skill-building and career development

• Drive and lead continuous improvement in the organizational, technical and business information processes/systems through Lean/innovative thinking/ideas plant wide.

• Manage operation within approved budget for controllable costs.

• Participate in annual budget process and develop budget within areas of responsibility.

• Write or participate in developing standard operating procedures.

• Maintain good personnel relations by explaining company goals and policies.

• Facilitate all personnel actions as required (scheduling, recognition and reward, discipline)

• Conduct communication meetings.

• Verify daily inspection of proper operation and condition of plant process and equipment. Ensures all units and areas are kept in clean and orderly fashion (establish and maintain 5S System). Takes necessary action to correct and complement findings.

• Coordinate with maintenance team to address needed repair work modifications within areas of responsibility.

• Works with production and quality departments to improve process functioning by ensuring the justification of equipment modifications and/or changes.

• Supports implementation and training program and actively participates in Root Cause and Corrective Actions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient with computerized materials control programs.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree; or sufficient and relevant practical experience.

• At least three years of relevant experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

• Must be physically able to climb ladders or crawl into awkward spaces.

• Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds consistently.

• Visual acuity is necessary to perform job task safely and effectively.
