OVERVIEW
Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Principal Azure Cloud Engineer for a direct hire role. The Principal Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions primarily within Microsoft Azure. This position is essential for ensuring the availability and efficiency of cloud services, as well as supporting enterprise-level production environments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong background in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- System Administration: Proactively monitor and administer cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance, uptime, and automated tasks.
- Infrastructure as Code: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and ARM templates to streamline provisioning and configuration.
- DevOps Practices: Manage Azure DevOps repositories, including branch policies, to facilitate code deployment and application lifecycle management.
- Issue Resolution: Take ownership of diagnosing and resolving infrastructure and application issues, providing effective workarounds or escalations as necessary.
- Microsoft 365 Management: Configure and manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint, adhering to Microsoft best practices.
- Cloud Security Implementation: Define and implement cloud security measures to safeguard data at rest and in transit, utilizing tools for identity and access management.
- Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain documentation on system processes to meet compliance and audit requirements, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to manage third-party resources and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Risk Identification: Proactively identify and communicate technical risks related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Decision-Making Experience: Depth of experience in making strategic decisions regarding overall cloud environment management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Cloud Management Expertise: Minimum of 5 years managing enterprise-level tenants in Azure, including multitenant management experience.
- System Administration Skills: Strong experience in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates, and cloud security models.
- DevOps Experience: Knowledge of Azure DevOps configuration and management practices.
- Cloud Services Knowledge: Familiarity with Azure PAAS and IAAS services, security, API management, and data management.
- Certifications (Preferred): One or more Azure certifications such as AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate or AZ-303 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; at least 10 years of relevant experience in a cloud computing environment, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

- Experience in large organizations with multi-location operations.
- Background in IT compliance and regulatory frameworks.
In our commitment to transparency throughout the hiring process, we provide a target annual base salary range of $125,000 - $145,000 for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) experience, work location, and skills. Additionally, this position is eligible for comprehensive benefits provided by the hiring employer.
