JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Design/Project Engineer in the Greenville, SC area supporting one of their top customers in the tire tire manufacturing industry. This role is onsite Monday-Friday, and hours are roughly 7am-4pm EST. This role requires ~20% travel to different plants around Greenville, SC, and occasionally to other states within the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This position is about 30-40% design work and 50% assistance to the engineering team with project implementation, and some project management experience is a plus. The engineer will be responsible for doing detailed mechanical drawings, layout drawings, component specifications, and BOM creation, while following the company standards in equipment design. The engineer will also be responsible for documentation, budget estimates, ordering equipment/materials, and overseeing installations teams during the equipment modifications and installs. Project management background is key in order to coordinate the deliverables from each engineering team to keep the project on track. Someone with strong time management and ability to multitask is key for this role. The qualifications include design experience within Solidworks, some project management background, familiarity with different design standards, and experience with documentation management systems (TeamCenter is a huge plus). Hourly rate between $42-$50

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical experience 3-5 years professional experience in Mechanical Design Engineering with project implementation background
  • Knowledge of 3D-CAD design tools (SolidWorks)
  • Experience with document management systems (Ex: Dossier, TeamCenter)
  • Comfortable traveling ~20% to different plant locations

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Robotic (Fanuc and Yaskawa) experience, configuration knowledge
  • Experienced with mechanical design standards ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc
