OVERVIEW AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Vice President of Operations will lead and oversee the payroll and billing departments. The VP of Operations will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of payroll and billing processes, while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The VP of Operations will play a crucial role in the strategic planning, innovation and continuous improvement for Acumen’s growth and development.
- Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage the payroll and billing teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement strategic plans for payroll and billing operations to align with organizational goals
- Process Optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in payroll and billing operations
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and billing regulations
- Financial Oversight
- Oversee the preparation and management of payroll and billing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of payroll and billing processes
- Technology Integration
- Evaluate and implement payroll and billing software and systems to improve operational efficiency
- Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present regular reports on payroll and billing activities to senior management
- Audit and Reconciliation
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll and billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll and billing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and proficiency in payroll and billing software
- In-depth knowledge of payroll and billing regulations and best practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues
- Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to improve processes
