POS System Engineer

We are working with a client in Central Ohio to identify a POS System Engineer, The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support POS systems, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
• Monitor and troubleshoot POS hardware, software, and network-related issues to deliver timely resolutions.
• Manage system upgrades, patches, and new software rollouts, minimizing disruption to daily operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, customize system settings, and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct regular system audits to ensure data accuracy and POS compliance with internal policies and security standards.
• Provide training and support to store teams and end-users, helping them navigate system changes and resolve basic technical issues.
• Document processes, configurations, and issue resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with POS systems, preferably in a retail or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of POS software, hardware, and peripherals, such as barcode scanners, receipt printers, and card readers.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues related to POS systems, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPN configurations.
• Experience with POS systems such as Oracle MICROS, NCR, Revel, or other retail POS platforms.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux, and knowledge of basic scripting is a plus.
