Overview: The Electronic Funds Transfer Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the department; focusing on member service standards, meeting organizational goals, and maintaining positive and professional relationships with members, peers, staff, and vendors. This individual monitors new plans and procedures to enhance operating efficiency. This role will assist in short-term and long-term service delivery and business objectives for the department. The department functions consist of EFT processing which includes ACH, ACH Originations, Selected Employee Group Payrolls, PFP Insurances and Reconciliations of the ACH, Zelle, and Check Adjustment Processes.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for all processes related to electronic payment channels to support all business lines, including but not limited to: Funds Transfers, Incoming ACH Files, ACH Originations, In-Clearing of On Us Checks, Incoming Return of Deposited Items, Check Adjustments, Selected Employee Group Payroll, PFP insurances, Reconciliations of the ACH, Zelle and Check Adjustments processes.
  • Manages all processes relating to the ACH program to ensure compliance with all internal procedures, NACHA rules & guidelines, and both Federal & State agency guidelines.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of ACH, share draft, and other processes related to Payment Systems, including NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines; ensure compliance with all state, federal and NCUA regulations and laws.
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information; exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with highly sensitive, complex and confidential issues and situations.
  • Provides requested information in preparation for and in response to department audits
  • Ensures daily deadlines are met by identifying out of balance conditions and other exceptions to processing, including daily GL reconciliations and settlement.
  • Assures Regulation D, CC and E compliance and monitors any exceptions.
  • Serve on committees and partner across the organization to implement improvements in processes.
  • Manage teams in a hybrid/remote environment, ensuring frequent touchpoints for inclusivity and cohesion.
  • Ensures EFT Team members adhere to established Service Level Agreements.
  • Direct, train, develop, motivate, hire, and discipline department personnel; administer performance goal setting/achievement and recommend appropriate personnel action.
  • Keeps management informed of changes/issues affecting team and/or operations.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing processes; ensure operations and procedural documentation are up to date.
  • Oversee implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.
  • Identify knowledge and skill gaps and actively work to create a multi-skilled team.
  • Provide training and continuous learning opportunities as product and member needs evolve.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent working experience
  • NACHA Certification preferred
  • Minimum five years' experience working in a financial services
  • Minimum three years' experience in management or leadership role
  • Requires independent thinking

  • Ability to lead a diverse project team, manage multiple project tasks concurrently and effectively coordinate and control cross-functional implementation plans.
  • Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading people and activities. Ability to motivate, direct and coach staff.

  • Technologically proficient.
  • Travel as required
