The Senior Procurement Specialist leads Procurement operations and ensures Vancity's procurement systems, data analytics and communication channels support Procurement's pivotal role in risk management, value optimization, and social and environmental impact for the organization. Through the management of contract lifecycle and strategic sourcing processes, this role will work with various areas of business and ensure vendor relationships are managed in accordance with Vancity requirements.

Salary: The salary range for the role is $71,000 to $107,300 and a candidate's offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($89,400). The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.

A typical day involves:
- Procurement Operations and Communications: Design and implement procurement operational processes by pinpointing key issues and working with relevant stakeholders to develop effective short- and long-term solutions. Recognize opportunities for cost savings and recommend and execute robust cost control measures.
- Contract Management: As the subject matter expert for the contract management system, guide the organization in enhancing contract lifecycle management. Ensure data accuracy and process compliance while implementing process improvements to reduce risks for Vancity.
- Data Management, Reporting & Analytics: Design and manage procurement data and tools, producing reports and analytical insights to support Vancity's objectives.
- Vendor Management: Create and oversee vendor scorecards in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Third Party Risk Management and vendor performance standards.
- Strategic Sourcing: Guide and lead strategic sourcing events (RFx), and contract negotiations in collaboration with various business units, aiming to enhance value, reduce risk, and promote social and environmental impact for Vancity.
You have:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business or Chain Supply Management.
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- SCMP or similar procurement designation (preferred, not mandatory).
- Proficiency in Procurement processes for goods and services, procurement systems and data management, contract management, and vendor management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Finance, Info Security, and Risk.
- Knowledge and understanding of contract terms and conditions.
- Experience in Sustainable and Social Procurement is an asset.
- Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and procurement and contract management systems.
- Expertise in performing data analysis using tools such as Excel and PowerBI.

- Excellent communicator: you will provide training and guidance to business units on procurement policies and procedures, as well as on procurement tools (e.g., Gatekeeper).
- Tech Savvy: ability to learn new systems and leverage technology in creating reports and data-driven insights, with minimal oversight from the manager.
- Highly organized with attention to detail: you will bring and apply best practices in procurement data and knowledge management.
- Adaptable: you are able to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty while resolving issues that involve multiple factors.
